There are many ways to make a gift.

When you make a general donation to the Tri-Cities Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® you join us in moving forward the breast cancer movement by supporting our work at the Susan G. Gifts in Memoriam
The Memorial Campaign provides the opportunity to make a donation in memory of a loved one or friend. When you make a donation, you will receive an email acknowledgment for tax purposes. If you would like us to send a personalized tribute card to the family you are honoring, please call our office at 423-354-0111 and we will be happy to do so. All gifts to Komen Tri-Cities Affiliate are tax deductible to the full extent the law allows.
All donations are considered unrestricted funds and will be used to support breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in NE TN,SW VA and Western NC as well as national research to find a cure.

Honorarium or Celebration Gifts
The
In Honor or In Celebration of Campaign provides the opportunity to make a
donation to celebrate a loved one's survivorship or a special occasion - a
birthday, anniversary, or a wedding, or recognize the courage of a friend or
relative who is fighting breast cancer. Every gift is tax-deductible and the donor receives an
acknowledgment for the his or her donation. If you would like us to send a personalized tribute card to the person or family you are honoring, please call our office at 423-354-0111 and we will be happy to do so.

Matching Gifts
Increase your donation with employer matching funds. Many employers will match your personal donation. Check with your company for more information on matching gift programs. Employer matching gifts may also be available to you if you are the spouse of an employee, a retired employee or the spouse/widow/widower of a retiree.
Planned Giving
Donations to the Komen Tri-Cities Affiliate can be made in a variety of ways, including through your estate. You can make a planned gift by naming the Tri-Cities Affiliate of Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation as a beneficiary in your will, with a specific amount, as a recipient of a percentage of your estate or as a remainder beneficiary of your estate. Please be sure to consult your estate or tax advisor on how making a planned gift may provide tax advantage for you or your heirs.
Gifts of Stock
Your broker can assist you in making a gift of stock via a direct transfer to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Tri-Cities Affiliate. Giving a gift of publicly traded stock that has increased in value and that you have owned for more than one year may provide greater tax benefits than giving cash. Your charitable income tax deduction is equal to the fair market value of the stock and you avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the current value over the original cost of the stock. You may also save by not incurring brokerage fees because you are transferring ownership rather than selling the stock.
